Uncover the enchanting beauty of La Mitidja, where the meeting of sea and mountains creates a mesmerizing landscape. This region is renowned for its citrus fruits and serves as a tranquil retreat for travelers seeking a seamless blend of Roman remnants and Arabo-Berber pottery motifs.
Step into the captivating world of the RIVERA educational micro farm in Cherchell, artfully designed by ellerachitecture to reflect Soumia's cherished childhood memories within La Mitidja. Despite its compact size, the farm exudes the charm of an intimate garden, beckoning visitors to immerse themselves in its timeless allure.
Embracing the ethos of permaculture, the design seamlessly integrates with the site's topography. The Mediterranean rain garden strategy efficiently directs water to ponds and swales, creating a semblance of untamed wilderness with minimal upkeep.
At its lowest point, the farm provides a peaceful haven for its animals, strategically located to minimize disturbance to nearby residences. Chickens, goats, sheep, and rabbits seek refuge under the shade of fruit-bearing trees like moringa and jojoba.
The circular journey culminates at the nursery café, a delightful retreat where visitors can acquire seeds, savor fresh fruits, or simply cherish the memories of an unforgettable experience. La Mitidja's allure is truly unforgettable, offering a harmonious blend of natural marvels and rich cultural heritage.
